Nutritious snacks and home style lunches are served to the Toddler and Preschool Programs. The Kindergarten and School-Age Programs are served lunch on full days.
Menus are prepared in accordance with Ministry of Education guidelines, Canada's Food Guide, and the Paint Your Plate approach.
Depending on the type of dietary restriction or special diet, RCCC will do their best to purchase and provide an equivalent substitute. Should an item on the menu definitively not work for a child, RCCC will work collaboratively with the family and ensure the child is served a meal provided from home. RCCC will provide gluten and lactose free products. Any other dietary preferences will be discussed with the family.
RCCC follows rotational menu systems:
4-week rotating menus from September-to-December and January-to-June
3-week rotating menu from July-to-August.
This ensures that families with children with allergies and special diets have time to identify foods their child cannot have and provide meal/snack substitutions (when necessary). Please see the samples of our menus below!
