Little Free Library
In November 2024, we at Rockcliffe Child Care Centre had a ribbon-cutting ceremony for our new Little Free Library. It was donated to us by a family that had enrolled their children at our centre many years ago. The family had the honour of cutting the ribbon for its grand opening to the rest of the community. If you and your family are in the neighbourhood, you too are welcome to share or take a book from RCCC's Community Library.
For more information on the Little Free Library, visit www.littlefreelibrary.org.
At times, you may bump into our children around the neighbourhood with Cundell Stables! Keep an eye out for a wagon full of happy faces, awe, and laughter!
Our centre is so lucky to be situated right next to the Rockcliffe Park Library! We are very fortunate and grateful to bring our children to meet and learn from the librarians and other guest speakers.
Monkey Rock Music is a crowd-favourite around this part of the neighbourhood! You will catch the young ones (and staff!) singing their tunes! "Hey! Monkey Rock!"
Every year, the children very much enjoy meeting superheroes... The Ottawa Fire Department! It is always a pleasure having them visit and teach us fire safety. We love learning about their gear, equipment, and fire truck too!
Sometimes, family members of the children come in to have presentations as well. They're not just parents, grandparents, guardians, or friends... They're also beekeepers, pilots, fire breathers, and so much more!
Local children's author and part of the RCCC Family, Bethany May Simison, wrote a children's book called The Fairies of Bog Twine Meadow!
If you are interested in purchasing a signed copy, you are welcome to e-mail Bethany at bethany.simison@hotmail.com. Happy reading!
We mustn't forget about the turkeys, frogs, and other wildlife roaming the neighbourhood!
They too are part of the community and love to visit our children!
Our RCCC Families have the biggest of hearts! As a community, we have to help each other in any way we can.
If anyone knows of families in need, please contact us!
