Rockcliffe Child Care Centre is a licensed, not-for-profit centre, offering children unique experiences in a safe, stimulating, nurturing, and inclusive environment. We were established in 1976 as New Edinburgh Child Care Centre and changed our name when we moved to our current premises in 1998. We are a proud participant of the Canada-Wide Early Learning & Child Care System (CWELCC).
Our programs ensure positive childhood development; working with families to encourage each child to achieve their full potential in social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
We focus on the children's interests when developing our programs and ensure that 'play' is meaningful and an exciting learning opportunity. In addition, we follow the pedagogy of How Does Learning Happen? and its supporting document, Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT).
Program Statement
Rockcliffe Child Care Centre believes that every child has the right to a high-quality child care that recognizes the unique strengths and abilities of every individual. We believe that all children are competent, capable, and curious, and it is our mission to ensure that our educators and environment foster the growth of each child’s full potential, allowing them to fully participate in the program and engage with peers in a meaningful way. Every child should feel that they belong, that they are a valuable contributor to their surroundings, and that they deserve the opportunity to succeed.
